Grounding the Positioner

The adapter must be connected to a proper ground on the welding machine or weld table.
Dirty, oily, or rusty connections can prevent proper grounding and may cause performance issues.
Troubleshooting: Emergency Stop
Q: The emergency stop switch is inconsistent. What should I do?
A: The switch may have debris or may need replacement. If the issue continues, Arc-Zone can provide a replacement switch.
Troubleshooting: Rotation Issues
Q: The machine stops rotating or runs inconsistently.
A: This is often caused by grounding or power irregularities. Check all ground connections and ensure clean, stable electrical input.
Troubleshooting: Board or Foot Control Failure
Q: Why did the control board or foot pedal fail?
A: Repeated failures are often caused by grounding issues or irregular shop power. The system may not be fully shielded against unstable electrical conditions.
If failures continue, Arc-Zone recommends reviewing shop power quality and grounding setup before replacing components again.
Shop Tip
Most positioner issues come from poor grounding or inconsistent power—not the machine itself. Start there first.
